GEP Atlanta (formerly Atlanta Arrangements) is honored again at 2007 ADME Achievement Awards

GEP Atlanta proudly accepted two more ADME Achievement Awards and one nomination at this year's ADME Achievement Award Ceremony which took place on February 23, 2008. Susan Henderson, DMCP, CMP, was honored with the Destination Management Professional of the Year Award for her many accomplishments and contributions to our industry.

We were also awarded the ADME Achievement Award for Best Tour Program for a tour & activity program that gave guests three days of unique hands on activities and VIP experiences that were a big hit. A flower making workshop allowed guests to create the perfect floral centerpiece. A handbag design class allowed guests to pick their style of bag and fabrics, creating a one-of-a-kind bag designed exclusively by each guest! The final day featured a tour of the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Gardens, lunch at one of Atlanta's finest restaurants with a Chef led tour of the kitchen and a fabulous fashion show with champagne tasting!

Meghan Norton was also nominated for the Destination Management Rising Star Award for all of her hard work and many accomplishments over the past 5 years!

GEP Atlanta (formerly Atlanta Arrangements) wins 2006 ADME Achievement Award

At this year's ADME Achievement Award ceremony which took place on February 10, 2007, GEP Atlanta was honored with its second ADME Achievement Award for the Best Innovative Event in our category. The Association of Destination Management Executives (ADME) Achievement Awards are given for excellence in destination management.

We turned up the heat in Atlanta for this award winning event for the GAMPI MEC Opening Night Reception at the Sheraton Atlanta. The conference theme was "Ignite Your Influence" so we decided to "Turn Up the Heat" with a red hot event! Cocktail tables were draped in red and orange linens and topped with unique illuminated centerpieces, while the buffets featured spicy accents such as red chili peppers. From the orange and red sheers hanging from the ceiling to the festive float centered in the pool, the entire courtyard was transformed for this night celebrating Hotlanta!

DMC GEP Atlanta (formerly Atlanta Arrangements) sweeps 2006 Allie Awards, winning in all nominated categories

GEP Atlanta, the city’s leading destination management company (DMC), received three Allie Awards at the 16th annual ceremony held at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta on Sunday, March 19, 2006. The awards include Best Corporate Event, Best Logistical Achievement and Best Team Effort.

For the fifth time in the past six years, GEP Atlanta won for Best Corporate Event.  This year the DMC was recognized for creating “Play like the Pros,” an event for 3,500 guests in September 2005 at the Georgia Dome. Guests were able to chose from over 50 sports games in six sporting areas: football, basketball, baseball, golf, soccer, and tennis in addition to virtual reality simulators and billiards.  Four former professional athletes attended the event and provided photographs and pointers for the guests.

GEP Atlanta received Best Logistical Achievement for Herbalife International’s 25th Anniversary celebration in April 2005.  A “Silver Service” anniversary dinner for 1,850 guests was coordinated around the Fountain of Rings in Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.  This marked the first time a seated dinner of that size was held in the park.  An additional logistical challenge came the day before the event when the guest count increased from 1,000 to 1,850 guests.  The night of the event, guests enjoyed an elegant three-course dinner, musical entertainment, and a special presentation of the Centennial Olympic Park fountain show.  At the end of the dinner event, performers on stilts dressed as silver robots escorted guests to an after party on the north side of the park.

The third award, Best Team Effort, was given for an event that took place during the Event Solutions Magazine conference for 3,000 meeting planners in August 2005. GEP Atlanta sponsored “Georgia on My Mind,” one of six events at Turner Field on the final night of the conference.  The event featured classic décor, up lit bars, a Ray Charles inspired cabaret performance, and the scent of peaches throughout the room.

In all, GEP Atlanta has won a total of fifteen Allie Awards.

Since 1991, the annual Allie Awards have honored special events companies that are members of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) or the International Special Events Society (ISES).  The name “Allie” represents the “allied” event companies in Atlanta working together for a common good to promote excellence in event design, planning and production.
